We are here at one of the most famous tracks in America and on the last two days of 2006. On the Saturday it was the grand prix day. I had two 45min motos but on a 7 mile track. Then a 45min team race. You have to do one lap on the swap with your team mate and he does a lap.
Saturday
My first 45min moto was on my 85cc. I got off to a good start and was in second. I followed first which was Jake Gagne for about ˝ a lap. Then I slipped the pass out the back and edged away. By the finish I was 40sec in front.
My second moto was on my supermini. I got the holeshot and made as fewer mistakes as possible. I kept on edging away and ended up further in front than the race before.
In the team race I was teamed up with Sandy Vance an American rider. I went first but I had to go out in with the pros on 450s. As you can imagine being the only one on an 85cc I was last to the first turn. The race was not very nice because you couldn’t see. It was about 4.00 PM and the sun was right in your eyes let alone the dust. I think sandy and I got about 10th.
Sunday
Today I had four races, two on 85cc and two on supermini. We were running the motocross track not like yesterday.
In the first race I was riding my supermini. I got a nice start and was in about 3rd. I then got pushed out at the bottom of the big hill and dropped back a few more places. I then pushed through them all until the leader. It was the last lap and we kept on going back and forward until he made a mistake three turns from the finish so I got him.
In the second race I was on my 85cc. This time I got a bad start. I was pulling through then my seat fell off and I dropped back a few until the finish. I think I got about 7th.
In my third race I got another bad start on my supermini. I pulled through to 3rd but was to far behind to catch the leader.
In the last race on my 85cc I got a good start and was in third. I passed for second and started to hunt down the leader. I had a bit of bad luck with the back markers and finished 2nd.
Over the hole weekend I won both classes which was good.
