Hi guys, Once again we are out in Italy for the last and final round of the European championship. Due to a concussion at the last round I dropped back from leading the championship to forth. I had a lot of ground to make up and with the track being full on hard pack it wasn’t all in my favour.
Practice on Saturday went well I eventually ended up 8th in timed training which was ok because the difference in times was very close.

In my first moto on Sunday I messed up the start and was way back in about 30th. I moved fast and gradually made my way up to 5th. For me that was like winning the race because from where I came from it was an outstanding ride.
My start in the second moto was better. I was in about 10th but by the end of two laps I was out in front. I stayed in the lead for about ½ the race until I made a little slip down a hill and dropped back to third. I stayed in third for the rest of the race not having enough time to catch the leaders.
Overall I finished 3rd on the day and in the championship tying on points with Jeffery Herlings but because I won 7 races and he won 1 I took the bronze. Jason Clermont wining 2 races took the gold from France and the Russian Alexander Tonkov wining 5 races took home the silver.
The last round of the European Championship has now concluded. It has been a great championship and I have learnt a lot. It was a shame that the final result wasn’t 1st seeing that I won more races than anyone else but I also had more bad luck and problems than anyone else. I had a great team behind me all the way and I am looking forward to next year.
Max
