Hi guys,
The team and I have travelled all the way to Eastern Europe for the first round of the European championship in Zarnesti Romania. This series is where all the best riders in the whole of Europe and countries as far as Russia battles it out head to head over 9 rounds to see which Nation can come out on top.
The track was awesome with some really cool sections. I was having a lot of fun and setting some fast times. I eventually ended up 2nd in timed training and felt really good.
In my first race I got and ok start and was in about 10th. I quickly worked my way through the pack and closed down the leader who was one of my fellow Dutch competitors Jeffrey Herlings. He was running a great moto and was on the pace. With about ˝ the race left I mad my move and took the lead. I then put in some super quick laps and edged away to take the win.
After my race I had to do a presentation, go on Romanian TV and do an interview.
My second moto was going well with a better start. I was working my way through and just about to pass for the lead when I got a flat rear tire. With it only being 6min into the race I came in and got it changed as fast as possible. I then went back out in 30 positions and started to pull back through. I eventually ended up 16th and luckily still got 5th overall.
Although I had a flat and didn’t do so good in the last race I still had fun and was going fast. We will be testing the moose so that wont happen again, so we will be ready for next week in Bulgaria for the next round and see how it goes.
