Hi guys,

We are here at one of the best and well known motocross tracks in the world!! Of course it’s Glen Helen. With it being the last race of the year it attracted many of the national riders. We had some of our Dutch friends over for training so it was nice for them to go to such a nice track. It was funny because all the Americans were complaining. In Holland there is a 65cc big wheel class and in the u.s.  there isn’t. So our guys were running big wheels in the 65cc then also raced the supermini which you can have up to a 112cc!! for me I had only ridden twice before the race due to a broken shoulder blade. This race also had a little extra to offer… on Saturday we had a 45 min Enduro then a team race to earn double points. Then Sunday you have a two moto format on the motocross track. Of course in the team event I was with my new big brother “J – Bomb” Jordan Booker.

Saturday

With your left hand on your helmet and a flag start it was a kick into 1st gear and wrecks the gear box for a start. But it worked!!! I was out in front going into the back section when an eager Everett Holcomb tried to come around me, causing me to move over on him which caused us both to go smashing down the hill head first!?!?! Luckily for him he landed at the bottom facing the right way, so he could get a little gap and have the faint taste of victory until with 2 laps to go he hit a nice big rock and got a puncture, leaving the door wide open for me to take the chequered.

For the team event J – Bomb started first (to get smoked out the gate by a 105cc on his new 144cc. he claimed to have hit neutral but was really the cover story for angry dad) after his 10 minute lap and a speedy band change I was out chasing down Holcomb again (don’t you always find that when you are rivals with someone, you seem to always get together on the track???). After an electric lap and a last corner smash up between me and Holcomb, Jordan was out there gimping again. This time he had to make my life hard… he gooned it in one of the deep ruts to find himself upside down under the amazing KTM 144cc. once he had been un - squashed  and came back to me I had to work double hard to pull it all together for an outstanding 4th place. (what Rodney’s, how did we not win???) haha.

Jordan had only just flown in from England and was feeling a bit rough. He done a great job and is being really cool about being my new big brother.

Sunday

On the main track we went out for practice at 7.30 am (too early!) and the track was mint. There were a few guys who just race the Sunday (because they are too lazy to do the Enduro. haha). It was also going to be my first race in the U.S. and first race back from my broken shoulder blade.

1st.

Our new start technique was working well which enabled me to clench the early lead. I had a bit of a battle with this Honda guy who I have never heard of , until he went down and enabled me to take the first race.

2nd

Another good start allowed me to get of with the early lead and make an easy race of it. (with these 3 lap dashes in all the American races the start is 90% of the race) of course my shiny orange machine was talking to me around the track, telling me how many championships she want to win (she’s special).

3rd

Bbbbbbrrrrraaappppp holeshot… well I had to let them have one race didn’t I??  or else they might think I was being mean. So a nice second place allowed me to prepare for the final race of the day and final race of the year!!!

4th

“ohh and that fly’in  orange machine of Anstie is out in front.” And that’s how it stayed.

I am in a particularly good mood today seeing that it’s the New Year and can see in my mind all the big trophies awaiting!!! Haha I hope.
